Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

AlarmK stores the following on device only:

• Alarm time, repeat weekdays, sound and background settings, mission configuration
• Alarm ring / response / completion timestamps, mission attempt and success counts
• Wake Score, 7-day chart, Critical Mode checklist state
• Appearance preferences (style, screen mode, accent color) and the default sound and background for new alarms

This data resides in the SwiftData database on your iPhone, and only leaves the device if you opt in to iCloud backup or iCloud Drive sync — in which case it syncs to your own iCloud account. See §4 for the full sync policy.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

AlarmK does not collect or store any of the following:

• Microphone recordings
• Precise location
• Contacts
• Calendar entries
• HealthKit / sleep / biometric data
• Browsing history
• Advertising identifier (IDFA)

3. Permissions

AlarmK requests the following at point of use. Denying any permission keeps the app functional with reduced features.

AlarmKit (iOS 26+)

Used to ring Lock Screen alarms through Silent and Focus modes, and to show the alarm in the Dynamic Island. If denied, the app falls back to standard UserNotifications.

Notifications (UserNotifications)

Used as the alarm delivery path when the AlarmKit permission is denied.

Camera

Used only for QR mission scanning and Find an object verification. Object recognition runs on the device. Images are evaluated in-memory and discarded immediately — never stored or transmitted.

Motion

Used only for the movement missions — accelerometer input for the Shake and Squat missions, and step counts (Motion & Fitness) for the Walk mission. The Motion & Fitness permission is requested when you add the Walk mission to an alarm, or at the latest when you save that alarm.

4. When Data Leaves the Device

AlarmK does not transmit your data to any server we operate. Data only leaves the device in these system-managed cases:

• iCloud backup, if you enabled it in iOS Settings — handled entirely by iOS under Apple's privacy policy
• iCloud sync (CloudKit), if you enabled iCloud Drive in iOS Settings — alarm and mission settings sync via CloudKit to your private iCloud container (iCloud.com.eazler.alarmk). We cannot access this data; it is used solely to sync between your own devices. Device-local data such as wake statistics and alarm handles is excluded from sync.
• App Store diagnostics — Apple's standard crash logs and usage statistics under Apple's terms

The sound list's Request a sound row opens our request form at vote.alarmk.com in an in-app browser. The app itself sends nothing; what you submit there is up to you and is described in §10.

Any future feature that involves a server we operate (server-side coaching, for example) will be opt-in and disclosed before activation.

5. Third-Party SDKs

AlarmK does not bundle any advertising, analytics, tracking, social, or crash-reporting SDKs. All third-party frameworks are Apple-provided system frameworks (AlarmKit, SwiftData, ActivityKit, AVFoundation, Vision, CoreMotion). Crash information reaches us only through the App Store diagnostics described in section 4, under Apple's terms.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.

6. Retention & Deletion

• Local data is removed when you uninstall the app.
• Alarm and mission history can be cleared at any time via Settings → "Erase data".
• QR Keychain entries are removed by the same action (including copies synced to iCloud Keychain).

7. Children's Privacy

AlarmK is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Security

• QR mission secrets are stored in iOS Keychain with kSecAttrAccessibleAfterFirstUnlock + kSecAttrSynchronizable (an iCloud Keychain item) — so your registered code still verifies after moving to a new iPhone. iCloud Keychain items are end-to-end encrypted; neither Apple nor we can read them. With iCloud Keychain off, the secret stays on this device only. (Pre-1.2.0 device-only entries migrate losslessly on first use)
• All network traffic uses iOS App Transport Security (TLS 1.2+) — though the app makes no calls to a server we operate
• Swift 6 strict concurrency catches data races at compile time

9. Changes

If this policy changes we update the Effective date above and show an in-app notice for material changes. If you need a previous version of this policy, request it at the contact address below.

10. The Website (alarmk.com)

Everything above concerns the iOS app. The following applies to the website at alarmk.com.

• Visit statistics — the site embeds no analytics script. It is served through Cloudflare, so standard request information such as your IP address and browser is processed by Cloudflare as our proxy, and we see only aggregate traffic figures. That processing is governed by Cloudflare's terms.
• App Store links — App Store buttons may include a nonpersonal campaign label, ct, identifying the language, page and button placement. Labels contain no personal identifiers or alarm data. Under the site’s referrer policy, your browser may send the domain https://alarmk.com/ to Apple. Apple’s App Store Connect campaign feature can provide aggregate traffic and download reports when its conditions are met; adding a label does not mean reporting is enabled or that every install is measured. We add no tracking SDK.
• Browser storage — the site stores a wg-lang value in your browser's localStorage to remember the display language you chose. It stays in your browser and is not sent to any server we operate.
• External CDNs — fonts are loaded from cdn.jsdelivr.net. Doing so passes standard request information, including your IP address, to that service. Scripts are all served from this site, so no request for them leaves it.
• Votes and sound requests (vote.alarmk.com) — this page runs votes on candidate backgrounds and alarm sounds and takes alarm sound requests. To count one vote per device and limit repeat requests, it sets a random device ID cookie (vid, one year). A vote stores your picks. A sound request stores your answers, the optional note you write, the page language, and whether it was opened from the app or the web. No name, email or IP address is stored with them. Requests are not published; we use them only to decide which sounds to make. To have a request removed, send us its text at the contact address below.

The website carries no advertising SDK and no advertising trackers, and it does not ask you to sign in or create an account.
